Located in a very secluded and calm area, above the town Neukirchen which is located on the mountain Großvenediger. Amidst the hiking region, on a sunny hillside, with a wonderful view to the national park Hohe Tauern!
DistancesPerfect initial point for walking-tours round the Wildkogel, farmed hut 800 m above the cottage (open at the peak season in summer). In summer the 4 km long mountain go-kart course ends above the cottage at the middle station. That is fun for the young and the young at the heart. The town Neukirchen is just 6 km from here: railway station, shops, swimming bath, tennis, bicycle rental, horseback riding. The cottage has its own fish pond (fishing for a fee) in 50 m. The owners inn is just 3 km away. Here you have the possibility to enjoy a cold snack consisting of bacon and bread and selfmade schnaps, while your kids experience where the milk comes from, how to feed cows and how to collect fresh eggs.
EquippmentLiving room with lounge and integrated kitchen equipped with a fridge, a wood stove, an oven and a coffee machine. 2 bedrooms, bathroom with shower and toilet, heating with wood stoves. In front of the hut are seats, a barbecue, a well and a wonderful view!

The skiing region Wildkogel is located in western Salzburg, between the Kitzbühler Alps and the national park Hohe Tauern with the districts Neukirchen and Bramberg, easily reachable from Kitzbühel or Mittersil. From the cable car for 6 persons or the "Smaragdbahn" you have a wonderful view to the surrounding peaks! It is an area where snow is assured until spring (2,150m) and therefore an inside tip for snowboarders and deep snow skiers. After skiing you should stop off at on of the farmed huts. Ski school for children, ice-skating area, ski touring, 55km cross-country ski runs, 55km prepared slopes.
Here is also the longest, illuminated natural toboggan run (14km) in the world! Numerous hiking trails.

During a summer holiday in the Wildkogel Arena, a region between the Kitzbühel Alps and Hohe Tauern National Park, countless recreational activities invite you to discover, experience and enjoy out in the fresh mountain air.
As you set out on a variety of hikes ranging from easy to challenging, you will have the opportunity to actively encounter the beautiful countryside of our Hohe Tauern National Park Holiday Region, all the while looking up at the many imposing peaks of the Hohe Tauern range. Cyclists as well as mountain bikers and downhillers likewise discover their own piece of heaven in the Wildkogel Arena. Whether you wish to explore the area on your own by bicycle or mountain bike or opt to take part in one of our guided mountain bike tours, is entirely up to you. In our holiday region, the WildkogelAktiv program promises a wide selection of activities, with something for every taste and all weather conditions.
After a great day of hiking or biking during your summer vacation in the Wildkogel Arena, you can look forward to numerous restaurants either up on the mountains or down in the valley, where, in a cozy setting, you will be treated, amongst other things, to delicious specialties of the Pinzgau region. And awaiting your kids is the Kogel-Mogel Adventure Arena: an exciting playground made out of wood, located right next to the mountain station of the Wildkogelbahn lifts.

Diese Berghütte ist ein Traum für alle, die richtige Erholung suchen. Absolute Alleinlage! (Unser Auto hat ganz schön geschnauft, die Anfahrt ist sehr steil und kurvig, nichts für schwache Nerven!) Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und eingewiesen. Man hat einen herrlichen Ausblick zum Frühstück von der überdachten Terrasse, es gibt einen Holzofen in der Küche zum kochen und heizen, sowie einen Fischteich zum Angeln gleich neben dem Haus. Unser Sohn war entzückt! :) Unweit des Häuschens wachsen Pilze, Blau- und Preiselbeeren, es gibt zahlreiche Wanderwege und -ziele. Ein Trinkbrunnen mit köstlichstem Wasser ist gleich hinter dem Haus, ebenso ein Grill. Die Ausstattung des Hauses ist absolut durchdacht, funktional und ästhetisch, wir haben nichts vermisst. Fazit: Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!
Wir buchen mit 6 ehemaligen Studienkameraden aus Deutschland diese Hütte 2015 nun schon zum 6. Mal und sind einfach begeistert. Der kleine Badeteich mit Forellen drin bietet eine willkommene Erfrischung nach einer anstrengenden Bergtour, Von der Hütte hat man einen herrlichen Ausblick nach Südost bis Südwest und direkt auf den Großvenediger-Gletscher. Die Hütte selbst ist für 6 Männer ideal, im Ofen in der Küche kann man selbst Feuer machen, um sich seine Brötchen aufzubacken oder leckere Nudeln zu kochen. Im Bad bekommt man heißes Duschwasser, wenn zuvor jemand eingeheizt hat - da ist Arbeitsteilung perfekt. Einzelne Betten könnten mal eine neue Matraze / Lattenrost vertragen, sind schon etwas durchgelegen. Im Sommer sind die Stubenfliegen lästig, aber auch dafür gibt es Lösungen. Viel Spass allen Hüttenbuchern!
